Phil Reed, Rolfe & Nolan's chief technology officer, says the soak test was designed to assess the technical architecture and application software of the module.

"This is an important milestone, and shows that Merlin Commissions' leading design standards are fully on track while at the same time complying with the exacting volume requirements of our leading customers," he says.

Merlin Commissions is part of Rolfe and Nolan's next generation suite of processing modules which have been designed to be platform independent, standards-based and cross-asset capable.

The commissions module provides a framework in which combinations of commission methods and associated rates are applied to each calculation request. The application can be integrated or interfaced with existing systems and extended to support commission calculations for other asset classes.
