EDS will operate the bank's IT infrastructure and provide network, desktop and server management and applications support from a new professional skills centre based at its Fussy, Bourges site.

As part of the deal, the bank's computer services team will transfer to EDS and work at the new centre, which will provide the bank with outsourced services including customer relationship management (CRM), data warehousing, payment management, risk analysis and the hosting of applications services provider (ASP) solutions.

Patrick Careil, chairman, Banque Hervet, says: "The ability to offer top quality outsourcing services and thereby maintain 100 jobs in the centre region of France, convinced Banque Hervet to choose EDS."

EDS says the agreement is its first comprehensive IT contract in the French banking industry.
