BancTec has launched ImageFirst DPS, a distributed capture system that delivers central clearing functionality for decentralised environments, such as branch offices handling debit and credit payments.
ImageFirst DPS is being marketed to UK banks as a service that captures, validates, balances, archives and distributes all types of credit and debit payments made within a branch.
The product automatically captures both image and data from each transaction, reducing the need for manual keying of data and the use of paper. Information is processed and balanced immediately, enabling earlier posting and accelerated fund settlement. In addition, the package improves data integrity, allowing for early detection of exceptional and fraudulent items.
