Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has launched ClassicDirect, an on-line global insurance database of real-time financial information.
Designed to help insurance professionals make informed decisions, ClassicDirect provides on-line access to more than 4000 insurer financial strength ratings and financial data on more than 11,000 non-life and life insurers worldwide.
The service includes rating actions and research, data manipulation tools and customised rating alerts. The research provides for each company key financial data from the past five years, ratio reports, performance tests, rating rationales and histories, ownership details and related articles.
Rowena Potter, credit analyst, Standard & Poor's, says the service offers all insurance ratings and research in one place.
"Its advanced functionality means that data can be customised to suit an individual's requirements, while the query tool allows for advanced data manipulation by the user," says Potter.
To mark the launch, Standard & Poor's is offering a free, one-month subscription to all applicants.
