Terra-Gruppen signs with EDB Fellesdata for self-service solutions

Norwegian banking group Terra-Gruppen has signed a new three year contract, worth Nkr35 million, with EDB Fellesdata for the supply of multi-channel banking software and operating services for its 85 member banks.

The contract is in addition to a five year deal signed in December 2001 for software, IT services and collaboration on self-service and Web banking projects.

Terra-Gruppen says the new agreement is for applications to support its self-service initiatives. The package includes EDB's NettBedrift Internet banking solution for corporate customers, a smart card software to be deployed on the ATM network and new functionality for retail Web banking.

In addition, the new contract includes the development of a browser-based system for the Terra Servicesenter, which will deliver support services for both member banks and customers.

Operating services will be provided to member banks by EDB Teamco.

Stein Ole Larsen, deputy managing director, Terra-Gruppen, says: "We will realise Terra-Gruppen's strategic focus on Internet solutions and self-service products through this collaboration with EDB Fellesdata."

EDB Fellesdata says that following comprehensive conversion work undertaken last year, all Terra-Gruppen member banks now use the same platform, giving economies of scale and allowing more efficient product development.
