New Jersey-based EFT vendor Fundtech says its Global PAYplus solution processed over a million payments in eight hours, during benchmark tests conducted with Sun Microsystems.
Carried out late last year using two Sun Fire 6800 servers, the testing incorporated the XA industry standard for implementing two phases of a transaction involving more than one data source.
Fundtech says Global PAYplus processed 127,000 payments an hour and 10-11 internal transactions were created and processed for each payment. The average transactions per second reached 394.
The full processing of payments involved a balance inquiry, the creation of an accounting entry, memo posting for 75% of all payments, acknowledgement from the Swift CBT, OFAC checks, and parsing, mapping and formatting over the PAYplus internal engines.
Michael Sgroe, Fundtech's chief operating officer, says: "The processing levels we achieved were the result of developing flexible and adaptable payment software that can leverage the technology of our partners."
