First Data has won a seven-year contract to provide credit card processing services to Scotiabank's operations in 19 countries across the Caribbean and Central America.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship in which First Data has provided these same credit card processing services for what is now Scotiabank Inverlat, in Mexico since 1994. First Data also provides processing services to merchant clients of the bank throughout the Caribbean.
Jack Wilson, vice president, electronic financial services, Scotiabank says: "Consolidating to a single provider will assist us in continuing to provide value-added products and features to our customers while leveraging the latest technology to increase operational efficiency."
