Swift recently announced that it had switched to a multi-vendor network because of the unstable telecommunications market. Swift resumed operation of its network in April this year following the termination of an outsourcing agreement with Global Crossing after the firm filed bankruptcy protection.

The society says its members can opt to contract with one or more of the network partners to connect to the SwiftNet messaging platform.

The multi-vendor network is due to be implemented early next year.
