Latvia's Rietumu Bank has licensed TietoEnator's card issuing and acquiring software Transmaster for its smart card processing operations.
The Transmaster system manages the complete cycle of payment card processing from card issuing to electronic payment operations via the Internet and mobile phones.
Maris Ozolins, managing director of TietoEnator financial solutions SIA, says the software will also be used to integrate banking applications.
"This allows (the bank's) customers to use a payment card as a key to access a wide range of financial services from ATMs and point-of-sales terminals," he says.
TietoEnator's Transmaster software is used by 35 banks and financial institutions in 10 countries.
