The membership, granted on 1 August, 2000, will provide clients with the ability to trade in Japanese stocks, placing orders anonymously through Instinet to the TSE's central limit order book, the company says.

Geoffrey Flynn, president and CEO, Instinet Japan, says: "Using our technology, investors worldwide can gain fast, efficient and anonymous access to the TSE. We believe this membership will further encourage our clients to bring increased order flow to the Tokyo market."
