Crédit Mutuel Arkéa Group, France's second largest regional banking group, is to provide subscribers to its I-Mode-delivered mobile banking service with location-finding technology from Maporama.
The Maporama software will point users in the direction of the nearest bank, ATM, or merchants accepting the new Moneo electronic wallet issued under the Cartes Bancaire national e-purse scheme.
Users begin their search on I-mode enabled phones, simply by entering a postal code or address - the result is an extensive list of bank locations, ATMs, or "Moneo-compatible" merchants. A detailed situation map and telephone number is provided for each address, while for each bank location, accompanying opening hours are also available.
"After launching the first Internet banking service in 1995, then on digital TV and WAP, the Crédit Mutuel Arkéa Group is now extending its remote service offering to I-Mode phones, increasing our advance in home-banking," says Charles Cabillic, remote-banking product manager, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa Group.
