SchlumbergerSema has announced that its MagIC 1800 point-of-sale (POS) terminal has received Visa Pin Entry Device (PED) certification from Visa International.
The POS terminal complies with the latest security standards covering all stages of the payment transaction process for magnetic stripe and EMV smart cards using online Pin verification.
SchlumbergerSema says its terminal is one of the first products worldwide to gain Visa PED certification.
The company has also announed the launch of its MagIC 1100 PINPad, a compact and integrated smart card reader. The PINPad is also compliant with Visa PED and EMV 2000 requirements and incorporates both DES/TDES and RSA security algorithms.
