The Fix.Net server is based on Microsoft's .Net platform, but also allows integration with applications on other platforms and will enable IFDS' clients to take orders and provide valuations through EMX.

Steve Wilkinson, SolutionForge founder and CTO says the technology was initially developed for the London Stock Exchange's retail service provider gateway project, which has been operating since July this year.

He continues: "We have had major successes with our technology in organisations running on Microsoft application development platforms but the IFDS implementation clearly demonstrates the interoperability provided by .NET web services."

Kevin O'Neill, director of IT, IFDS adds that the Fix.Net server "had a proven record with FIX, EMX and had a flexible architecture to integrate with our own."
