O'Brien was most recently managing director for sales and operations in the Americas at FNX Limited, where he held various senior roles including product manager for back office operations.

The move comes at the same time as privately-held City Networks announces record financial results with turnover for the year ending 30 June 2002 increasing by 8.4% to $18.2 million and operating profits up 26.4% to $3.4 million. Cash inflow from operations was also healthy at $5.9 million.
