The insurer is using Saba3 Release4 to convert its existing training content into an online format in a number of critical areas such as underwriting, claims handling and customer service.

Andy Wooler, e-learning practice leader, Royal & SunAlliance, says the company needs to comply with regulations from the General Insurance Standards Council in the UK and with the Financial Services Reform Act in Australia to prove the competency of its staff.

"Saba allows us to not only prove these competencies, but track and link competencies to job profiles and integrate them into Royal & SunAlliance's total learning framework," adds Wooler.

The company has gone live with the first stage implementation, which took six weeks to complete. The system will now be rolled out to all of Royal & SunAlliance's global offices.
