E-payments outfit Trintech is teaming up with service providers in the German mobile phone market to offer merchants its PayWare prepay terminal solution.
The company is working with network operator Netzwerkbetreiber and several e-prepay solutions companies including Electronic Payment Systems AG and Trendy Cash, to provide support and distribution for its system.
Based on the company's PayWare PrePay Suite, the solution allows merchants to offer electronic replenishment of mobile phone prepay accounts using its POS terminals.
The system is designed to replace costly paper-based top-up vouchers for prepay phones and enables merchants to print PIN codes from the terminal. Alternatively, phones can be topped-up through a direct link to the mobile operator.
The prepay software is designed to work on a range of Trintech POS devices and has also been certified by T-Mobil, Germany's largest mobile operator, for the e-top-up of its customers in Germany.
Fergal Donovan, sales manager, software solutions PrePay, Trintech, says the system will enable merchants to drive more revenue through their systems, thereby reducing the overall cost of terminal deployment and boosting profitability.
