ABN Amro is to implement Sungard's BancWare Insight for funds transfer pricing and data management, allowing the bank to manage risks across its balance sheet in one integrated platform.

ABN Amro extends Sungard's Bancware to EFT pricing and data management

The new system will collect, clean and synthesise transaction level data and then feed the information into BancWare Convergence for asset liability management.

Flexible transfer pricing will enable the bank to separate interest rate volatility from product decisions, allowing managers to price products, perform asset allocation and make compensation decisions.

David Ide, senior vice president at ABN Amro, says: "One integrated platform for ALM and funds transfer pricing ensures data consistency across departments."

ABN AMRO currently runs BancWare at its Chicago headquarters and has been using BancWare Convergence for interest rate risk management since 1993. The bank added dvanced analytics including option-adjusted valuation (OAV) and prepayment modelling to the solution in early 2000.
