BMO wins Ontario government e-procurement contract

BMO ePurchasing Solutions, a division of the Bank of Montreal, has been awarded a three-year contract to supply its MasterCard purchasing card programme and proprietary Web-based card reporting and data integration solution to more than 30 government offices in Ontario.

In partnership with the Ontario government’s Shared Services Bureau, BMO ePurchasing Solutions will issue purchasing cards to 1000 provincial government employees. Another 13,000 employees will receive cards in November. Anticipated annual MasterCard volumes from the programme will exceed $100 million.

The company will also implement its Web-based card reporting and data integration solution, BMO details Online, through the government's employee portal. This will reduce the reliance on paper-based systems and allow for the management of detailed purchasing information, says BMO.

Randy Ford, managing director of BMO ePurchasing Solutions says: "We are providing the province with an end-to-end electronic procurement and integration platform that will speed up payments to suppliers, while cutting time and costs from the overall procurement process."

This is the second e-procurement win for BMO this year. In January the group was awarded a four-year contract to supply BMO details Online to more than 100 federal government departments and agencies.
