California-based B3 is allying with Wells Fargo Bank to promote a new software suite designed to reduce the time it takes for merchants to set up a fully-functioning Internet storefront.
The complete service will first be made available through Wells Fargo's Small Business Resource Centre in December 2000.
"By combining the B3's scalable store builder solution with the robust fast payment options from Wells Fargo this solution will enable a merchant to quickly build a store, sell online and take payments," says Debra Rossi, executive vice president, business Internet services for Wells Fargo.
The solution will utilise Wells Fargo's proprietary - patent pending - fraud management system, she adds.
The combined platform is developed around B3's buildIT which enables first-time e-commerce companies to set up a transactional Internet store, from storefront template selection to payment gateway, order processing and reporting services. In addition to the buildIT service is payIT, a payment platform providing credit card, debit card and purchase card processing with sophisticated reporting; and saveIT, which allows customers to store personal information - such as multiple shipping addresses, credit cards and e-mail addresses.
