Digital ID company, VeriSign is offering Internet merchants a direct connection from its Payflow payment processor to American Express. The link-up enables online shopkeepers to authorise and settle card transactions directly with Amex in real time.
The new connection will enable merchants using Payflow to avoid third party fees for American Express transactions and may provide reduced transaction cycle times, says VeriSign. In addition, American Express has agreed to market VeriSign's Payflow services to its small and medium merchants in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
