The two firms will use IM Auditor to enable compliant real-time communications for institutional traders over public instant messaging networks such as America Online, Microsoft and Yahoo!

The FaceTime IM Auditor includes an easy installation and configuration process and requires no change in behaviour for users of existing instant messaging clients and buddy lists. It also includes Web-based reports and support for existing corporate proxy servers, says the company.

Steve Capozza, president of Capstone Investments, says: "Capstone views its choice of FaceTime's IM Auditor as a significant competitive advantage for our traders. They can now continue to use familiar IM tools without a disruptive change to proprietary offerings, to conduct time-sensitive business transactions inside and outside the enterprise."

Eric LeGoff, Liquidnet's COO, comments: "We chose FaceTime because of the company's ability to provide us with a solution that was easy to install and configure, had no impact on our staff and members and satisfied our compliance requirements."
