SunGard Asset Management Systems is to upgrade its AddVantage asset management system with risk analytics software from RiskMetrics.
Under the agreement, the portfolio construction and analysis modules of RiskMetrics' WealthBench tool will be integrated with SunGard's AddVantage portfolio accounting and trade order management solution. The modules - including RiskGrades, a tool for analysing private client portfolios - will be used by asset managers and investment advisors of wealthy private investors to aid investment strategies, says SunGard.
Don Birdwell, group chief executive officer of SunGard Asset Management Systems, says: "Integrating RiskGrades with AddVantage enables us to seamlessly provide various analyses for wealth management at the security level in real-time, or prior date, positions of a portfolio. This capability illustrates the advantages of browser-based solutions over older technologies."
