New York-based Cyota has launched SecureMPA, an issuer-based cardholder authentication solution that supports MasterCard's Secure Payment Application (SPA).
MasterCard's SPA gurantees payment to online merchants by authenticating cardholders, generating and transporting transaction-specific evidence that a legitimate account holder authorised the transaction.
SecureMPA is part of Cyota's existing online payment security platform - Cyota SecureSuite - which integrates online payments security initiatives into a single operational platform and user experience.
Bruce Rutherford, vice president, e-business and emerging technologies, MasterCard International, says: "The Cyota solution will contribute to SPA's long-term success and ultimately help to reduce online fraud and increase consumers' confidence while shopping online."
SecureMPA will be offered in the US, Europe and Japan as a hosted solution, or can be implemented at the issuers' data centre. Plans are underway for Cyota to deploy the SPA-compliant SecureMPA solution this year in pilot programmes with global issuers.
