The solution integrates a bank's systems at various branches with external rating agencies and includes features for workflow management and negotiation between credit appraisers and authorisers. I-flex says the package gives banks and financial institutions the flexibility to evolve a formal credit appraisal process in a controlled format.

V Shankar, head of the i-flex IT services division, says the company opted for the Microsoft .NET Framework and XML Web services as the development framework because they provide a simple programming model which can operate across multiple devices. "We have designed the credit appraisal aystem to allow credit initiators and credit authorisers to utilise the Internet to simultaneously initiate and authorise a proposal regardless of geographical location," he says. "In addition, the Microsoft .NET Framework and XML Web services helps banks by reducing the integration cost and time to market."

I-flex currently has a dedicated team working on different Microsoft .NET based tools and technologies, and is also advising customers on how to utilise the framework. Shankar says the company will expand and augment the team based on customer deployments.
