Nomura International has selected integration software from BEA Systems as the technology standard for the company's new European Intranet portal.
The portal has been developed using BEA WebLogic Integration for cross-business collaboration of front, middle and back office systems and easy deployment of business services. The system currently provides access to corporate information and services, such as human resources, compliance, corporate communications and finance, for 2000 internal users throughout Europe. Nomura plans to extend the portal to provide key services to users across the globe and already has a number of international users.
"We have an extensive enterprise platform at Nomura," says Ian Buchanan, chief information officer at Nomura International. "It was essential to build on a platform that could deal with the huge demand for integration and a vendor that would have the strength to become the core platform underpinning the entire project."
He says the project has already demonstrated a return on investment, with enterprise Intranet usage rising four-fold in only three months.
