The Tibco MobileConnect platform will enable enterprises to exchange business content with partners and customers via wireless devices, and provide a mecahnsim for the roll-out of transactional services to mobile phones says the vendor.

Vivek Ranadive, chairman and CEO for Tibco Software says the MobileConnect solution will suport the WAP protocol and provide a pathway to 3G networks for the delivery of new multimedia services and applications.

Greg Shortell, vice president of global sales, Nokia Internet communications, comments: "By combining real-time e-business infrastructure with Nokia's WAP technology, Tibco will be enabling users to exchange real-time, personalised business content, and conduct e-business transactions independent of time and place."
