The solutions will be based on Baltimore's UniCERT Certificate Management System and Telepathy products, and Simera e-motion, the Schlumberger WAP 1.2 compliant SIM/WIM card. The cooperation will involve integration between the Schlumberger regional data processing hubs and Baltimore UniCERT to enable the bulk issuance of SIM/WIM smart cards containing digital certificates.

"By the end of the year, it would be possible for operators, banks and merchants to roll-out PKI and SIM/WIM based infrastructures enabling complete transactions in a full and trusted environment which will boost the next generation of m-commerce services," says John Fallon, director of wireless at Baltimore Technologies.
