Dublin-based retail banking technology vendor CR2 has appointed Clear2Pay chairman and co-founder Michel Akkermans as a non-executive director to the board.
Akkermans is currently chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay, of which he is a founder, and an active investor in a range of financial technology start-ups. He previously was chairman of S1 Corporation, which was formed when FICS - a company founded by Akkermans - was merged with Security First Technologies, Edify and Vertical One.
Ron Downey, joint CEO for CR2 says: "We are delighted to have Michel join our board of directors. Michel is globally recognised in the industry as a force in the field of e-finance, and a visionary in the new financial dynamics."
In October 2001, CR2 appointed Chris Horn, co-founder and chairman of Iona Technologies as a non-executive director to the board.
