Wilson will be based in London and report to Harry Temkin, managing director of equities product development for Reuters investment banking and brokerage segment.

Wilson, along with other ex-London Stock Exchange staffers, was a co-founder and director of cross border electronic stock exchange Tradepoint and negotiated proposals which led to Tradepoint becoming the first and only non-US equity exchange to be granted approval to operate in the US.

He subsequently joined virt-x, a joint venture between Tradepoint, the SWX Swiss Exchange and a consortium of global investment banks, which focuses on cross border equity trading in Europe, as a director of business development.

Temkin says Wilson's market know-how and contacts will be an asset to the group as it seeks to strengthen its trade execution and order management capabilities.
