Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) has implemented a Brocade-based SAN solution to back up mission-critical financial data at its 60,000 branches nationwide and create a redundant storage network for business continuity.
The bank worked with HP to create a SAN fabric based on Brocade SilkWorm 2800 fabric switches and the HP XP48/XP512 enterprise storage system. The system is managed with HP's MCServiceGuard and runs on a clustered HP Superdome mainframe.
"The SAN fabric has dramatically transformed our network's efficiency and lowered the drain on CPU resources. With Brocade SilkWorm switches deployed, we are able to gain a considerable competitive advantage as a result of the cost savings and improved efficiencies," says Yu-Feng Miao, deputy general manager, information and technology department, ABC.
