Insurance outsourcer Capita has selected Perwill's eBiz-Manager middleware as a key element of its £323m, 10-year contract with Abbey National to develop, manage and administer the systems development and core processing activities of its general insurance business.
capita has been called upon to provide business-to-business integration services between the general insurance contracts administration systems, Abbey National and a panel of ten leading insurers. Full-cycle motor and household policy data is collated, validated and transferred automatically, with key management information fed directly into Abbey National's core systems.
Denis Thomas, project director at Capita says: "We were looking for a reliable and scaleable EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) solution, capable of handling millions of XML (eXtensible Mark-up Language) and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions annually."
The Perwill eBiz-Manager product met all the requiste criteria, says Thomas, adding "the fact that Perwill has a large insurance customer base and a clear understanding of the insurance industry was crucial".
