Allied Irish Bank is to implement PlanView's enterprise resource and programme management solution in an initiative aimed at improving the tracking and control of information technology resources.
The PlanView solution consolidates work and resources into a central repository, via a corporate extranet or intranet, which all employees can access in real-time using their personalised PlanView Web portal. IT managers can prioritise projects for the entire organisation and build realistic multi-project schedules based on the skills and availability of their professional staff. The staff progresses projects by reporting to the central repository their hours worked, expenses, and estimates of hours remaining.
Steve Lynott, head of investment value management at Allied Irish Bank, says: "The features and flexibility offered by PlanView's Web based architecture best offered us the potential to optimise our IT resources to support our business strategy."
The bank will implement the solution across its IT development and operations areas with initial deployment in its Dublin office.
