Nasdaq is to provide customers of its software subsidiary, Nasdaq Tools, with direct access to the Primex Auction System.
Using a modified Tools interface, broker/dealers will be able to route equity orders through The Primex Auction to seek price improvement for customer orders, tapping liquidity made available by auction securities participants.
Stacie Swanstrom, vice president and managing director of Nasdaq Tools, comments: "In addition to incorporating basic functions of the Primex Auction System into the Tools software product line, we have given our customers added features that make participation simpler and faster."
