FöreningsSparbanken (Swedbank) has signed a three-year contract with Utimaco Safeware for the maintenance of the bank's IT security, worth EUR2.3 million.
In 1998, the Swedish bank contracted with Utimaco for the roll out of PKI (public key infrastructure) technology throughout the organisation. The vendor has also supplied smartcard-based security solutions for authentication, encryption and digital signatures for 14,000 workstations.
The new maintenance agreement, which also includes consulting services, will further develop the bank's security initiatives, says Utimaco.
