The agreement, forged under IBM's new PartnerWorld for Developers programme, pitches Big Blue to the forefront of the Globus product line-up, against competing Sun, Compaq, and Windows NT systems, middleware, hardware and database alternatives.

The PartnerWorld programme calls for Temenos to lead with IBM middleware, including WebSphere application server software and DB2 Universal Database, as well as S/390 and RS/6000 servers in its development and marketing of Globus. In return, the vendor gains access to new prospects and revenues through IBM's sales and marketing channels.
