Dresdner RCM Global Investors has installed an optical IP network from Yipes to deliver 100 Megabits-per-second links between three separate offices in the city.
The Yipes metro area network (MAN) provides the entire Dresdner RCM staff in San Francisco with one common LAN, replacing an existing 100 Mbps local area network.
"We needed a very fast and highly secure service," says Oliver Bussmann, managing director of IT at Dresdner RCM. "We couldn't afford the expense or management complexity of building and lighting our own fiber network to each office."
The Yipes MAN service provides Layer 2 security and can scale up to a full gigabit-per-second.
