FleetBoston Financial has promoted Patrick Coll from executive vice president to chairman and chief executive officer of the bank's credit card services division.
Coll previously spent three years at Household Credit Services, where he was managing director of the GM Card, and has held positions at Krupp/Taylor USA, Citibank and Continental Illinois National Bank.
Coll replaces Joseph Saunders, who was chairman and CEO of Fleet Credit Card Services since 1997.
