American Express secures ATM access in Indonesia

PT Bank International Indonesia (BII) has entered an agreement to provide American Express Bank customers with access to its 600 ATMs in Indonesia.

The agreement is the continuation of a partnership that started last year, which allows American Express card members to pay their bills through BII ATMs. Earlier this year, another agreement was signed to enable members to make cash advances through BII’s extensive ATM network.

According to Rudy Hamdani, member of the BII management team, this is the first time BII has opened its ATM network to a foreign bank.

BII currently operates through a network of 259 branch offices and has a customer base of 2.1 million.
