The Monetary Authority of Singapore has collaborated with Deloitte and S&P to develop a prototype for a 'FinTech Research Platform' to provide investors and financial institutions with up-to-date company information on prospective investment targets in the startup sector.
The platform offers a comprehensive view of fintech companies, including their attributes on business models, use cases, funding, and technology stack.
The aim is to enhance investors’ confidence in potential startup partners by providing an independent and reliable source of aggregated third-party and self-reported data.
Sopnendu Mohanty, chief fintech Officer, MAS, comments: “We believe that the deployment of capital in start-ups, particularly those offering business-to-business solutions, can be vastly improved by enhancing transparency and increasing the confidence in data on early-stage companies."
He says the Research Platform could act as a complimentary entry point to API Exchange, a cross-border marketplace and sandbox created last year for financial institutions and fintech firms to work together on financial inclusion projects.
