White will be in charge of US Bank's enterprise-wide digital strategy, including innovation, digital products, development, omnichannel and agile initiatives.

With the financial services sector in the midst of a digital revolution, US Bank has brought in someone who has led the innovation efforts at two banks at the vanguard of the new world.

White comes from Spanish giant BBVA, where he led a team of nearly 10,000 people focused on designing, creating and launching digital products and services.

Prior to that, he spent 12 years with Barclays in several leadership roles including chief design and digital officer. He joined Barclays in 2004 through the acquisition of Juniper Bank, where he was an early member of the start-up internet bank.

Andy Cecere, CEO, US Bank, says: "Derek is an outstanding leader with a proven global track record as a digital innovator in the banking industry.

"He and his team will be instrumental in deepening our commitment to provide our retail and institutional customers with the capabilities that make it easier and better to bank with U.S. Bank."
