Tinkoff already offers its customers a mobile number-based P2P payments service but, from today, Sberbank's Moscow-based customers will also gain access. Customers in the rest of the country will follow by the end of the month.

Anatoly Makeshin, director, payment systems, Tinkoff Bank, says: "Tinkoff was one of the first in the Russian market to offer this option within our own banking system. Now, alongside our partner Sberbank, we are scaling this service and taking it to the next level.

"New features not only improve the user experience for our customers, but also further advance the development of the country’s payment infrastructure.”
