Nordnet inked a deal with Amelia's creator IPsoft last summer, enlisting the AI-powered assistant to help it with customer onboarding, later extending her use to customer service.

However, Nordnet has already decided to terminate Amelia's contract, with CEO Peter Dahlgren telling local publication Dagens Industri that the bank has decided to focus its AI efforts on other areas.

"We have tried it towards customers, and the response is ok but not overwhelming, so we are choosing to prioritise other things within our AI focus in the short run,” says Dahlgren.

IPsoft has established itself as a leader in the AI-powered assistant arena, signing up several large banks, including Credit Suisse and SEB, to Amelia.

Last month BBVA confirmed that it has enlisted Amelia to help it digitise sales, advisory and support services.
