Lloyds Banking Group has hired UX design guru Dan Makoski to fill a newly-created role as chief design officer.
Makoski comes to Lloyds with an impressive CV, having previously designed the original Surface at Microsoft, he decamped to Google to join the search giant's free-thinking Project Ara 'pirate' mobile development division.
In 2014 he parted ways with Google to become VP of design at Capital One, with an initial focus on m-commerce and payments. He arrives at Lloyds following a two-year stint as design VP at retail chain Walmart.
Zak Mian, group transformation director, Lloyds Banking Group says: “When thinking strategically about winning in a digital world, we need to get better at designing great experiences for our customers. I’m delighted that Dan is joining the team and bringing with him his energy and vast experience in this area.”
