BNP Paribas is inviting property investors to don a virtual reality headset to meet with brokers and take a 3D tour of prospective house purchases.
The technology, which enables an investor to meet his or her broker without travelling, has been co-designed with Mimesys, a start-up that designed the first holographic platform and HTC Vive, a virtual reality system that can now be used to visit property.
Users donning the HTC Vive headset are transported to a meeting room where they can interact with a holographic image of their broker and pore over 3D models of the property plan before taking a virtual tour of the property in question.
Thierry Laroue-Pont, chairman of the Board of BNP Paribas Real Estate, says: “Innovation is an integral part of our DNA, and with this holoportation solution we intend to revolutionise the customer experience."
