Bloomberg first added bitcoin pricing data to its Terminal service back in 2014. Recent volatility in the market has seen prices surge dramatically, lifting interest in alternative currencies.

Ripple's XRP, Ether and litecoin have each benefited from the spike in bitcoin trading, driving valuations to new highs.

The addition of the new currencies to the Terminal was tipped by Bloomberg reporter Lily Katz.

The financial data provider has yet to officially comment, although a report in Fortune suggests that data for the new cryptocurrencies is being provided by Luxembourg-based exchange Bitstamp.
