A Reuters spokesperson says the company had about 300 staff, including employees of Instinet and Radianz, working in or around the World Trade Centre yesterday. "Most are safe but a few remain unaccounted for," says the spokesperson.

Reuters has implemented disaster recovery procedures in an effort to restore services to clients affected by the attacks. "Delivery of Reuters services to some US customers has been affected, but our recovery procedures are underway," the spokesperson says.

Bridge Information Systems, which operated from the neighbouring World Financial Centre, has instructed all New York employees to remain home today. The company is asking New York staff to call +1 800 325 4357 and confirm their safety.

Friends and family members seeking information are being asked to send an email to WTCINFO@Bridge.com.
