The Australian Stock Exchange was forced to close early on Monday following a day of problems caused by a hardware failure in a database used by the bourse's equities trading system.
Monday's opening was delayed by more than hour by the failure in the ASX Trade database, with a series of knock-on consequences affecting trading throughout the day until decision was made to shut up shop an hour and a half early.
In a statement, the exchange says that the platform will be "available as normal" on Tuesday.
ASX says that it kept frustrated market participants updated throughout the day via the trading platform, email and social media and will offer a detailed incident report once an investigation is completed.
