Interdealer broker Tullett Prebon is to open a new global technology hub in Belfast, creating 300 new positions.
The new facility, which will focus on development and technical support for Tullett's global business, is backed by Invest Northern Ireland, which is providing support and assistance to attract and develop employees.
It is expected to be fully operational during 2019.
Tullett chief John Phizackerley says initial recruitment for the hub will start later this year.
"Belfast was the standout choice of location for us," he says. "The combination of a highly educated workforce, attractive business environment and great infrastructure, underpinned by the support of local government and Invest Northern Ireland is a compelling proposition for a global financial services group such as ours.”
In its first half results statement, Tullett says the new hub will play a key role in realising synergies from the pending acquisitions of Icap's ICGB unit and ICE's Creditex voice brokerage operation.
