The Bokis partnership includes 62 local, savings and cooperative Banks in Denmark, together with five Danish regional banks: Jyske Bank, Sydbank, Spar Nord Bank, Arbejdernes Landsbank and Nykredit Bank.

They have contracted with Nordic payments processor Nets for the deployment, which will use digital tokens to replace the use of card numbers at the point-of-sale for tap-and-go payments.

In April, Nets announced that it will use HCE technology from Japanese card issuer JCB as the foundation for a nationwide mobile payment system. Under the agreement, Nets will utilise J/Speedy, JCB's contactless technology, for Dankort debit card payments with smartphones, with a launch date scheduled for autumn 2016.
