Already the bestselling Android smartwatch in China, Mobovi's Ticwatch is hoping to gain more users thanks to wearable payments in a market where all POS terminals will support contactless by the middle of next year.

Using OT's Pearl embedded Secure Element, the feature will let users install the Ticpay app on their phones and then scan a payment card, which will then be used for transactions carried out with the watch.

ZhiFei Li, CEO, Mobvoi, says: "We believe that contactless payment is the revolutionary payment lifestyle enabled by wearable devices. With this in mind, we are developing the wearable technologies to provide a secure, efficient and seamless payment experience to all our users."
